Dunhuang Silk Road Series
The Dunhuang Silk Road Series is inspired by the Tang Dynasty music and dance murals in Cave 220 of the Mogao Grottoes, which record the prosperous cultural integration along the ancient Silk Road.
We call this series "Mineral Relics" — all pieces are made of raw Hubei turquoise and 7A high-transparency red agate, which are the same mineral materials used in the murals of the Mogao Grottoes thousands of years ago. We extract the classic color combinations from the murals, and restore the faded grandeur of the Dunhuang murals bead by bead through the natural texture of the gemstones.
